Looking for DSLR Camera

Looking for a DSLR but Don't know where to start? Here are some picks for you.
Shoppping for the DSLR Camera is not child's play. DSLR stands for Digital Single Lens Reflux camera. These cameras are not hot buy, since these cameras are now more affordable.
A spanking new DSLR camera now available in $1000 range. The asking price about 2 to 3 years ago was $5000.
DSLR cameras provide much more functionality and flexibility compared to the compact digital camera. Good for both professionals and beginners who want to headstart.
The functionality for these cameras work very good to get sharp, focused and creative imaging.
Some of the great models in market are SONYA350, Canon EOS450D, Nikon D60, PentaxK10D,

Alos the mid range DSLR cameras are costing less now, below $2000....
They are witin reach of a common person to go professional way. If it is affordable to you, go stratight for a mid range instead of an entry level DSLR for greater granular control and more features.
Look for models in the mid range such as SONY Alpha 700 (A700), Canon EOS 40D, Olympus E3, and NIKON D300.

Pentax K10D

The K10D shows what's available if you do not just head straight to the latest big name models.

The 2006 10.2 Megapixel K10D was Pentax's first advanced DSLR. With it's dust and weather resistan seals, the camera does not need tender and loving care.

The K10D has 11 focus points and does a spirited, if somewhat fussy, quicksteps into focus.

It also has the widest, shalloest grip and feels less secure compared to the othres. IT has the only prper pentaprism out of four.

It is large, tipping over 1 kg with a second information panel and two control dials.

Pentax build image stability into the body which makes it work with every lens.

For noise control, this shows its age. It feels a touch less wired compared to the rest.

The kit lens is the only one here that has a distance scale etched on - great for focusing wihout the viewfinder. The technology may e tow years old but you get a lot out of the camera for your money and it's built for punishmnet.

Nikon D60

The 10.2 megapixel Nikon D60is the latest of Nikon's Junior DSLR series.

No built in focus drive motor, but will not difference for a beginner, this may grate on you whin you start building your lens collection.

The body and kit lens of the D60 is 815 g. being heavier than 450D's. The vibration reduction of the lens is the most robust in the D450's DSLR series. The series comparises of Nikon D60, Nikon D40, Nikon D40x and NIKON D450.

The D60 has least focus points but the most refined in the autofocus in this range.

Flash performance is also accurate. The reach of the GN12/39 flash

Sony A350

When it comes to DSLR Son y is the newest launcher on the block, and its A350 carries the most features in its new entry level.

It has highst resoltion of 14.2 mega pisels in the range. But the amount of data that has to be mangated slows its rapid shooting down to 2.5 fps. Frames per second.

The image in the viewfinder is smaller than that of others and it is not so bright.

The A350's live vidw is the best when implemented. A dedicated sensor make live view shooting more relaxed and enjoyable process.

The A350 is unbashedly large compared to the 450D and D60 while it weighs about almost 1 kg when fully loaded, it is still lighter than K10D

Jonits on its articulaed LCD panel are solidly made and while it can only swivel vertically high and low angle shots are very easy.

A350 conducts a rapid and busy dance before locking focus. It has a GN12/39 rating

While the menus and information screens are the plain, chainging te camera's settings is easier as thre is not double clicking required thet battery life indicator is the most informative.

Sensitivity gose upto ISO3200 but the A350 does not match the D60's finesse has the largest range of 28-105mm.

Chockful of innovations, the A350 offers features that the others lack.

SONY A350

Nikon D300

Olympus E3

Canon EOS 40D

Cannon EOS 40D

Sony Alpha 700 (A700)

My first experience with a SONY DLSR camera was enjoyable.

The flexible user friendly organization of buttons and dials. Easy to read extra large fonts on the menu screens compared to others.

Good handling and design of SONY Alpha 700. Its old fashioned twist dial buttons that control camera's exposure modes and preset screen sections.

Adaptable to current technology of wide angle lenses and equipped with the HDMI terminal. Directly allowing to share your pictures and photos wiht other on HDTV.

Body image stabilizer with the dual card slot. Other than the standard CompactFlash card it accepts the MemoryStick.

Like any other equivalent models by othres SONY Alpha 700 features Creative Style and Noise Reduction.

The ablility you miss is Live View Function and deleting of images instantantly in the preview mode. It only acceptes SONY Compatiable Flash units due to proprietary flash shoe.

Picture quality is generally good but lacks in finer details. Pictures look fairly flat and smooth lacking the rounding up and depth of objects.
